When will you receive Activity Alerts?
We’ll send you an Activity Alert as confirmation whenever you:

• Create or amend a payee – either an individual or company
• Create or amend a standing order
• Update your address or telephone details
• Are issued with a new debit/cash card or PIN

We will not charge you for using our alerts service. However, your network operator may charge you for receiving a text alert from us or for sending a mobile text message to us.

How to register for activity alerts
If you have provided us with a valid mobile number, then you will receive these Alerts automatically – you don’t need to do anything!

If you have not yet provided us with your mobile number, you can do this by registering for Online Banking. Alternatively you can visit any of our branches or call us to update your details.

In the Mobile App
You can update your alerts within our Mobile App by following the steps below. Not yet registered? Sign up today.

1. Log into the Mobile App
2. Select the profile icon to the top right of the screen once logged in
3. Select Settings
4. Select Alerts
5. View Activity Alerts will show you what activity alerts you have set up, these can only be amended via online banking
6. Selecting an account will allow you to amend the alerts for each, including – Weekly Balance and Balance Alerts.
7. To amend the weekly balance you will choose the day and time you wish to receive the alert, then tap ‘save’
8. To amend Balance Alerts tap on the option, then set a lower balance and/or a higher balance and then tap ‘save’

In Online Banking
You can update your alerts within our Online Banking service. If you are not registered, sign up today. If you already bank online just log on, select ‘Alerts’ from the left-hand menu and then select the ‘Manage your alerts’ button on the next page.

Over the phone or at your local branch
If you have an eligible Sterling current or savings account with us you can update your alerts at your local branch or via Telephone Banking.If you come into a branch, please bring your debit card with you or some form of photo identification such as a current passport or current photo card driving licence.

Please remember we will never ask you for your PIN or Password details by text or email.

Weekly balance alerts
There’s no need to call, visit a branch or queue at a cash machine to get a regular balance update. Once you register we’ll text you your balance each week on whatever day suits you best – you can even specify morning or afternoon.

Upper/lower limit balance alerts
You can set up Alerts to inform you when your account goes above or below a certain limit, so you’ll know when you’ve received a large payment or if your money’s running low. We’ll check your balance at 6am and we’ll aim to text you at around 8am the same day or around 10am if it's a weekend.

Requesting text balances and mini-statements
You can also ask for a balance and mini-statement update, showing the most recent transactions on your account by text message whenever you like if your mobile phone is registered with a UK network provider (this on demand service is not available on Channel Islands and Isle of Man mobile phone networks).

Just text BAL or MINI to 60628. If you register more than one account, you can tell us which one you need information for by adding the last three digits of your account number or the last four digits of your debit card number, e.g. BAL 123 or BAL 1234.

Over the phone or at your local branch
If you have an eligible Sterling current or savings account with NatWest International you can register or manage Alerts at your local branch or via Telephone Banking.

If you come into a branch, please bring your debit card with you or some form of photo identification such as a current passport or current photo card driving licence.

In the Mobile App

7. To amend the weekly balance alert, choose the day you wish to receive the alert (Mon-Sun), and the time to receive the alert (Between 8am and 12pm, or Between 2pm and 6pm), then tap ‘save’
8. To amend Balance Alerts, tap on the option, then set a lower balance and/or a higher balance and then tap ‘save’

In Online Banking
Simply log in to Online Banking (you’ll find the ‘Alerts’ link in the menu on the left), click ‘Manage my alerts’ and select the ones you want in addition to the ones you get automatically.
